Assisted Living Community Entertained by Perfect Home Care Holiday Trivial Pursuit Presentation
Senior Care in Ossining NY
One attendee said it was, “a lot of fun.” Another said it was, “challenging.” Still another said, “it elevated my holiday spirit.” The attendees were residents of Atria on the Hudson, an assisted living community in Ossining, NY. They were among 25 residents who participated in a game of Trivial Pursuit recently sponsored at Atria by The Perfect Home Care.
Trivial Pursuit is a popular board game in which players are required to answer a series of questions in categories such as history, literature and sports. The recent game – which was billed as “The Special Holiday Edition” — was composed specifically for Atria on the Hudson. The game consisted of 100 questions, the vast majority of which had a holiday theme.
The Perfect Home Care adapts the game for large groups by placing the questions into a laptop computer program and then projecting the questions onto a movie screen in front of a room.
“It was lots of fun, and very informative,” said Jack Kohler, 78, a resident of Atria on the Hudson who participated in the game. “The graphics were great, and the presentation was very well done.”
Phil Waga and Ed Trapasso, co-owners of The Perfect Home Care, hosted the event and took turns asking the questions. They also distributed holiday treats, including miniature chocolate bars, to the participants.”
“The audience was very engaged, and very smart,” Trapasso said. “We included some tough questions, but they handled them all. One of our goals in doing the contest is to deliver a good time to the elderly community we serve. We accomplished that goal at Atria on the Hudson.”
Here are two of the 100 questions fielded by the audience:
Question: What Hebrew warrior is commemorated in the holiday of Hanukkah?
Answer: Judas Maccabeus.
Question: Which star led the Three Kings to Jesus?
Answer: The Star of Bethlehem.
The Perfect Home Care has hosted roughly 25 Trivial Pursuit games in and around Westchester County, N.Y. since the agency’s inception three years ago.
